Signs of Emotional Exhaustion (and Gentle Ways to Refill)

Emotional exhaustion can creep in quietly. You keep showing up for everyone, until one day you realize you have nothing left for yourself.

Common signs

  • Feeling tired even after a full night’s sleep
  • Getting irritated by small things
  • Feeling numb or detached
  • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Finding it hard to focus or make decisions

Gentle ways to refill

  • Schedule rest the way you schedule appointments.
  • Say no to one non-essential thing this week.
  • Move softly: a slow walk, stretching or gentle yoga.
  • Journal for five minutes about what’s weighing on you.
  • Ask for help, from friends, family or a professional.

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you were never meant to. Start with the free 7-Day Soulful Reset Journal.
